Oh Why Do I Do It?

Cheese. I love cheese. When I eat too much I get sinus headaches. I ate too much and now I have a sinus headache. {SIGH} I know it will happen. It always does. Why does it have to be so good? MMMM...Grilled American cheese sandwhiches, queso on tater tots, swiss cheese/sauerkraut(sp?) on rye bread sandwhiches.......WHY MUST THEY TAUNT ME SO????

I'm going back to therapy today. A new therapist. A new goal. I hope I like her. I loved my old therapist so my standards are high. I also have a theory that I won't be able to talk to a woman therapist as well as a man but I hope thats not true. I guess we'll see.

Well here comes Summer II. Only 6 hours this time so its got to be better than Sum. I. I am taking a Soc. class called Drugs and Society and a Business class called Strategies for Business Decison Making(GAG). I am just praying that they are really easy and go fast. I really want to get this over with. I really want it to be fall. Life is too up in the air right now. By fall everything should be settled.

Dysfunction Junction

So there was this situation with some of my neighbors. There is a family downstairs with 4 little kids between 5-newborn. My boys have never really played with these kids because 1). they live downstairs and my kids can usually only play upstairs and 2) they are agressive(bordering on mean) little kids. Now the fact that they are mean is totally due to the crappy parenting I have witnessed for the last year. The mom is always yelling at them and the dad alternates between being loving to them and calling them "little bastards." Nice. So anyway, last week Chris is picking up our kids and on his way out witnesses this mom dragging her 5 yr old into the house, yelling at him and spanking him. So, Chris tells her if she doesn't stop beating the hell out of her kid, he is going to call the police. SIGH. This is just so frustrating because while I am glad he is the kind of guy who will stand up for kids, that one comment caused so much tension for me. Not to mention a confrontation between Chris and the woman's husband(in front of all the building kids) which came so very close to becoming an actual physical fight. So now I don't want to let my kids play outside here. I don't want to go outside here. I have such a negative feel for this place now that I just want to hide. That probably seems really irrational but I can't help it. So do I think Chris should have kept his mouth shut, you may ask? Yeah. I do. That may seem really cowardly of me to say but honestly his comment did nothing constructive. They are not going to stop spanking and yelling at their children now. Had Chris called the police they would not have found abused children-only badly parented ones. So all that was accomplished was that it made my life more difficult.....Oh well, whatever. Ya gotta love that East Texas drama.

I passed my algebra final!!! Made a B even:-) I am so relieved. That was the scariest test I have ever taken(worse than the SATs). I am so happy to have that all behind me. Now maybe I will be able to chill and get some things done. I have one online quiz to take tonight and then I am done until Monday. May not sound like much but its the longest break I've had in 5 weeks so I am going to enjoy it.'

Mundane life stuff

I spent yesterday cleaning out the play room. Got a whole bag full of stuff to give to Goodwill and a whole bag of broken toys to throw away(yes I do feel bad about that). There is so much space in there now! Its awesome. It was also amazing to realize that they never played with even a fourth of the toys in there. Not to be ungrateful, but I really wish my family would quit giving them toys. They play with them for 2 days and then its permenently in the toy box. It goes to show that kids want simple things and lots of time outside(mine do anyway). Wooden blocks, legos and paper towel tubes that can be made into swords.

The boy's dad is moving from across the parking lot into the other side of a duplex his (ex now) girlfriend lives in. Sigh. Thats means that he will be seeing the kids here at my house as they cannot be anywhere near her(she has a history of violence and I just dont like her). Chris and I get along pretty well now and I am afraid that having him over here at my house will complicate that. He says its only temporary though. We'll see. But I just have to say that SUCKS for me.

Tristan's 5th birthday was sunday. He had a great day. We went to see Lilo and Stitch(which I cried through) and we got him a scooter, which he loves. My mom makes all the kids b-day cakes every year. They are always really cool. Tristan's was a castle this time. It was awesome-upside down ice cream cones for turrets, gram cracker windows. So cool.

Today I am optimistic that I can return to a more normal and healthy life after the Summer I insanity. I will start with our first trip to the library in a month. I know, I know, how can I live with myself? I will be better now:-)
